On the first Palm Sunday, a donkey brought Jesus into Jerusalem. In ancient times, military leaders rode into battle on warhorses. After victory, the leader came back on a donkey, bringing peace. Jesus brought the peace of God’s Kingdom into our world. God becoming man and dwelling among us is the ultimate act of humility. We should humble ourselves and be the best donkeys we can be to bring Christ to others. Many people don't know Christ, or they are afraid to follow Him. They don't know that their sufferings can become meaningful and fruitful if they are united to Christ's sufferings. They are without hope. We can be donkeys that bring Christ to others by our words and deeds. We should not be afraid to speak of Christ and the meaning of His Passion. We are His messengers. He wants to reach out to others through us. Maybe we can think of someone who needs to hear Christ. Maybe we can simply listen to Jesus so the Holy Spirit can speak through us. Through our good deeds we can share our neighbor's burdens. By helping them carry their crosses, we help them see life in Christ. We are the donkeys that bring them Christ who brings hope to all. Jesus chooses us to bring His Kingdom into people's hearts. We are the donkeys, carrying Christ into every heart, to give them hope. We should make ourselves into the best donkeys we can be, carrying Christ into the hearts of everyone we love, everyone we work with, everyone who is in need, and everyone we know. Jesus wants the same thing. We need to be His best donkeys. He will take care of the rest. Now you know!
