Like many people, my life often seems to run on deadlines.
When will the paper be due? …How late can I send in that RSVP? …Exactly what kind of time do I need to allot to drive from here to there?
At this point in Lent, we’re called to meet some deadlines. (Of course, since Lent really points to Easter and since our God is a God of mercy, we can expect a bit of shifting in the deadlines.)
Rectory, Set, Cook: The absolute deadline to give will be this Friday, March 27 at 5pm. After that, no donation, no vote for Team St Ann & St Boniface! We’re still pretty comfortably in 3rd place. (Thank you, all our generous donors!) Can you help us make 2nd?
Rice Bowls: Join us this Friday at St Ann’s at 5:30pm for our (kind of) traditional Lenten soup meal. Bring your bowl and spoon. Bring a donation—small or large—for Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl. Stations will be prayed both at St Boniface at 5:30pm and St Ann’s at 7pm. If you’re not able to come to that event, please return your Rice Bowls before Holy Thursday—we want them to be part of the offertory at those evening Masses.
Holy Week: It’s next week. It’s tremendously important. Please put Mass on your calendars—for Palm Sunday, for Holy Thursday, for Good Friday. Especially consider the Easter Vigil—that most important Liturgy of the year when we welcome our newly baptized into our community!
Confession: We’re coming to some last chances for that Lenten confession. We’ll be here this Monday (St Boniface) and Thursday (St Ann). Holy Week we’re hearing our confession on Monday 5:30 to 7pm. Wednesday of Holy Week we’re hosting our Penance Service, with multiple confessors, at 7pm at St Boniface. (Please note that we aren’t hearing confessions Good Friday or Holy Saturday—even though it’s First Saturday.)
Let’s meet our deadlines. Let’s finish strong in what on Ash Wednesday we called “this campaign of Christian service”!
